Publication Services, Inc., Announces Partnership with CyberMedia
December 18, 2006:
Publication Services, Inc. (PS), established in 1976 and located in Champaign, Illinois, has announced its partnership with CyberMedia, South Asia’s largest specialty media house. CyberMedia has acquired a 49% stake in the 30-year-old company.
PS is an experienced book and journal production company that provides services to reference, trade, and educational publishers throughout the United States. Based in Champaign, Illinois, PS employs 50 full-time employees in addition to a freelance workforce of about 250 individuals.
With this workforce, PS supports both large and small publishers by providing comprehensive project and author management, editing, foreign-language translation, proofreading, art, typesetting, indexing, XML workflow, and both content and multimedia development.
CyberMedia is South Asia’s first and largest specialty media house, with thirteen publications (including Dataquest, PCQuest, and Global Services) in the infotech, telecom, consumer electronics and biotech areas, and is a media value chain including Internet (www.ciol.com) and television events. The group’s media services include market research (IDC India), job board (CyberMedia Dice), content management, multimedia, and media education.
PS is expanding the scope of services offered to its clients through this partnership and is developing new clients by providing cost-effective content services. Cybermedia has a team of 130 professionals in India with expertise in original content, creation, design, typesetting, data conversion, archiving, and digital management. CyberMedia is ISO 9000 certified.
As a result of this partnership, PS is expanding its sales force in the United States. Although services such as typesetting and graphics will typically be handled by CyberMedia, PS will retain its current employees in order to focus on project management, editorial services, writing and content development, and final quality control. In addition, PS is the point of contact for all services provided to book publishers in the United States.
CyberMedia CMD Pradeep Gupta said, “We are excited about our partnership with Publication Services. Together we can embark on a faster growth path in addressing the publishing outsourcing market with a highly experienced and quality-driven team. This is the next step in CyberMedia’s movement toward going global.”
Dr. William Stout, CEO of PS, stresses that “the alliance between CyberMedia and PS represents an ideal partnership in the current global publications marketplace. It combines Publication Service’s editorial expertise, project management skills, and U.S. client base with the cost-competitive high-quality typesetting, graphics, and proofreading provided by CyberMedia. I look forward to a long and rewarding partnership that will stimulate strong growth and enhance profitability for both companies, as well as providing unparalleled publishing services worldwide.”
